Joey's 11th Birthday

3rd August, 2013 was Joey's birthday and it was a totally different kind of celebration ... Lasertag style was in trend and the kids played for the very first time at eCurve, thanks to uncle Dr Joshua's recommendation. It was a non-stop unlimited games, they played till they nearly dropped dead tired! Sweatyyyyyyyy :-) ha ha ha ... just look at the happy faces, all grinning from ear to ear! Poor mommy had a tough time getting them out of this highly addictive place!

As for mommy, well.... it was a nice 'pampering' me time too!

Little Luxuries

Started cooking again ... after SO many months ! Here's a recommended new dish, recipe given by a stranger uncle at the wet market : dried red chillies, dried prawns (pounded), lots of garlic, onions, a pinch of sugar ... stir fry till it's almost dried up :-) My domestic helper loved it!     The girls love it when mixed in their favourite noodle soup. It's been replenished over and over again when it's all eaten!           Not bad huh?

How about an added touch of freshness for as low as RM3, that's the cost of 2 stalks of flowers ... 1 yellow and 1 white, beautiful colour combination ... Volala ... 2 different floral arrangements : that's 1 to brighten up the dining table and 1 to be enjoyed and admired at the backyard whenever it's tea or reading time :-)

This one here on the left?
Cost nothing ! Beautiful pale purple blooms with peacock-like motives ... that's the water lillies at the front water-fountain, they take turns to bloom all over and it's quite an awesome feel whenever they greet me good morning ! Ha ha ha ... Love the little luxuries of nature in my cosy little home .... life is treating me kind ya .... just take time to notice the beauty surrounding us as we go along life's short journey

Caught In Jam!

What do I do when caught in jam?
Play around with my iPhone camera!

Rather than get all boiled up, here's what I do.
End result, quite amusing isn't it?

HAPPY HUMMINGBIRD

2 Oct 2013

My name is Odelia. My warrior name is Happy Hummingbird and I deserve a standing ovation! (Applause from all fellow warriors .... ) A-Ho!

Fond memories and valuable lessons learnt. Being able to let go of darkness and learnt the ways of an enlightened warrior, ingrained into my very humble being. I am a warrior!

It's been 2 weeks since Enlightened Warrior Camp ended on 19th September, 2013. 5 awesome days and many awesome warrior friends especially those from our tribe : SOARING TIGERS ! Too bad I can't share re what we did in camp, sworn and bound by the warrior promise :-)

I went to camp driving alone and came back with a full car load of friends who kept me in good company while I drove 4 hours back to KL. Shown my hospitality to Abeth, my new Philipino friend who is now an Australian citizen, brought her to my regular hairstylist and got her hair dyed and treated, had a good 2 hour massage at AsiaSpa too :-) We were in high spirit and when it was time to bid each other goodbye, we promised to keep in touch. Had viber chats when she got home, all is well and here I am writing again, spurred on by a promise I made to myself ... to be grateful and bring loving kindness.

I also had the opportunity to give away a bonus : a free ticket to EWC to a friend who took the opportunity and attended Camp 2. Now, I have another warrior friend in the neighbourhood!

Today, someone asked why I chose Hummingbird? Here's why :-

What comes to your mind when you think of a hummingbird?
Speed. Agility. Flexibility. Boundless Energy.
The hummingbird is the perfect example of making the nearly impossible appear quite effortless.
The hummingbird is a multitasker
- feeding and buzzing off to the next responsibility with lightning speed.
It hovers and darts from project to project, focusing intently on the nectar that's needed,
and then speeding off to insert itself into the next project with intensity.
It can fly up, down, sideways, and backward with amazing flexibility.
But one of the most powerful and little-known aspects of the hummingbird is the speed at which it learns and can be trained.
And if anything is needed in today's rapidly evolving world, it is the ability to acquire and assimilate new ideas.

This description resonates with me, hence, I am HAPPY HUMMINGBIRD !
