Bob Triumphs

17th April, 2009 - This morning, as reluctant as I was, I had to leave at 8:40a.m. from the school field where the kids are having their Sports Day ... but not until I took some photos and videos of the opening ceremony ... and Jasmine in her smart new school band uniform, playing the drum :-) Luckily, I left my camera with a friend who took more videos and photos in my absence and I was able to watch the replay of triumphant scenes of the kids in action ^_^

Scrabble

Last Saturday, I bought a box of original scrabble at Popular Bookshop. Got home and immediately sat down together with Jenny and Pauline for a game of scrabble :-) Scored 222points ... not bad for a start. Jenny scored >100 points too. The winner for that day was Pauline with 265 points, mostly with my guidance (ahem)

What A Joke!

9th April, 2009 - On Monday, I struggled with the BBQ lamb which was a tough one to chew, ended up with a smack of the bone towards me and I ended up hurting my right eye! I didn't give it much thought after splashing some water into my eye and still went for my swim with the kids. The next day, oh boy! I woke up to an irritating eye and as the day wore on, it started to itch and swell! Eye Mo didn't help and before I knew it, it was pretty bad and I had to struggle with making the drive back from school after fetching the kids.

By the time I decided to go to the doctor, I found that I will not be able to drive and so, I waited for my sisters who had a prior appointment with me to drop by my house for dinner.... What good luck was that for me, alas, I had to be chauffeured to the nearest clinic. The GP who had a look at my eye which by now had swell so much that the doctor told me I have to see an eye specialist immediately as he has spotted an ulcer in my eye and that it may cause blindness if I do not get to the specialist fast! Oh Gosh! That was bad news alright, made me curse at myself for being negligent!!!

Ha ha ... even the doctor at Tun Hussein Onn Hospital laughed at me for such a blunder and well, kinda scolded me for not attending to my eye till now. I had an eye pad on after that, looks kinda like Captain Hook, only thing is that the patch I had was white in colour. Luckily I didn't have to be admitted ^_^ though I actually brought along a night's clothing to stay overnight at the hospital. I even asked the doctor is I can be admitted since I had to go back the next day for follow up and I didn't feel like troubling my half-sister to fetch me to the hospital again.

So, that night, me and the kids stayed overnight at my sister's house. Long story short, we intruded into their one whole night and one whole day the next day. Thank you so very much for the kind and loving gestures. What are sisters for right? My heartfelt thanks, really. I told myself : must take very good care of myself for I cannot afford to collapse, else how would my kids be well taken care of right? Now I know and am grateful to have supportive family members who will not hesitate to lend a helping hand, ear and whatever not ^_^

Today, I received a refreshing mail : God's beautiful creation, such nice pictures, so soothing to my healing eyes ^_^ just at the right time :-)

Of Spiders and Frogs

6th April, 2009 - A lovely evening, me and the kids went for a swim. Me and Dash, we had a chat, I brought up the issue of Dash bringing his toy money made of colourful pieces of paper to school and was consficated by the school discipline teacher today. Dash related to me that he actually brought spiders and 5 little frogs that he caught from our garden! I went : Oh! That's pretty exciting isn't it? Then, Dash further went on to say that the little frogs died and asked whether spiders actually bite the frogs ...

I went: ya, I suppose so. So, please do not do that again. Not only will the teacher punish you, you are also killing the poor animals, bad for the karma. Do you understand? With that, Dash smiled and said yes, mommy...

Untangling Nikki

6th April, 2009 - This morning, I sent Nikki to the vet, got her vaccinated, dewormed and groomed ... Now she looks boyish! Had to trim off her tangled fur ... ha ha ... coz I forgot to let kakak know that she needs to comb her hair too ... oh dear, what a blunder :-)

Still got a lot to learn about taking care of a dog, I guess ... he he ... Next week, still need to send her to the vet to be spayed and then I am thinking of getting her licensed under DBKL ruling. Wah! Didn't realise there is still much to do and spend. Anyway, am happy that Nikki is part of the family. The kids were excited to see Nikki spotting a new hairstyle when we went together to fetch her back from the vet.

Now, Nikki also had a change of leash, a bright red one, in place of her metal chain one. Gentler to the touch when we take her out for a walk. Nikki seems happier ... ha ha ... or is it just my imagination? Well, at least she should feel lighter ^_^

Aww ... It's OK

1st April, 2009 - Yesterday, Dash brought Bombastic to the playground and caught the attention of a Malay neighbour friend who apparently recognised Bombastic as her other neighbour's pet cat!!!

So, today, when we got home, a group of Malay girls came cycling around our house. Immediately Dash knew that it's time to say goodbye to Bombastic. So, he got into the house, looked for Bombastic and I guess with a heavy heart, he gave Bombastic back to his rightful owner, with a cheerful disposition. Wow! As I observed silently, I could feel Dash's disappointment for he has grown quite fond of Bombastic. Many a night, he would cuddle Bombastic to sleep with him in his room. Dash is more gentle and kindly towards Bombastic whereas Bob handles the kitten rather roughly.

Suddenly, Dash remembered that he has forgotten to pass the remaining cat food to the owner and asked : mommy, how? I smiled and replied : Aww ... It's ok, if and when Sati (Bombastic's original name) drops by, we can always give him a treat ya? With that, Dash smiled and went out to play with the other children again.
