My Success Journal - 30 Apr 2008

1. Early this morning, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call, a promising business lead. YES! The law of attraction is working in my favour.

2. Mad mad rush ... banking, fetch kids from school, wrap up remaining work for the day, deliver documents to my personal client, pack my luggage, all in good timing :-)

3. Drove all the way to Singapore and managed to have a good night's sleep.

My Success Journal - 29 Apr 2008

1. This morning, I finally introduced myself and found out a few of my office neighbours' names. The roti canai 'flipper' is Tarbik; the tea lady is Muniamah A/P Ponusamy (she even showed me her IC to let me know how to spell her name!) and the candy man is Omar. Bought my first 20sen candies from him today. Feels good to have at least introduced myself before I leave my job here. Oooh... I am going to miss them :-)

2. In the evening, Jess dropped by my house to do grocery shopping together at the pasar malam. Veg, fruits and buns were the items for the day, to last the kids for the next 3 days when I am not around. Took fried kueh teow for the very first time at the pasar malam. Quite yummy, can try again the next time :-) Had to also hunt for a paper cup for Bob's art class and 10 packets of salt for the kids' school project. Next, 5 glass containers ... of all things. Hmm ... will have to hunt for them next week. Whatever will the teachers come up with the next round? Interesting.

3. Today, the kids asked my permission to eat maggie mee for supper and I said yes, on one condition : to kiss me ! All of them rushed to kiss me on the cheek except for Jenny... hmmm... kind of not warmed up to me yet I guess. We can play and laugh together but when it comes to showing affection ... will have to work on this one. A good challenge, maybe I'll just need to look up the parenting book again to gain some ideas :-)

4. Someone got me to call him my elder brother !

My Success Journal - 28 Apr 2008

1. It's Monday! Instead of the usual Monday morning blues, I was so charged up, it's another 'Manic Monday' with lots of things on my to-do list, feeling great that I am ready to ATTACK ! Started the day with an email to Aster on her request for a resolution to be sent to her ... one item in the list crossed out and on time too :-)

2. Had to rush off at noon to pick up the kids from school. Today, they were having their term exams, so no tuition for the whole week except on the last day i.e. Friday. Bob was unusually talkative today as I hold his hand and lead him to where I parked the car. Excitedly he reported to me that he scored 89 marks for his chinese paper today. It's Bob's first exam and mummy is sure proud of him when he volunteered to let mummy know how he fared :-) Looks like a good start. Way to go, boy!

3. Exchanged car with Bea so that she can help me to get it serviced the next morning, in preparation for our Singapore trip. Hmm ... it's so wonderfully great to have a sister like her, help is always just a phone call away. Thanks, Bea. I appreciate your help. Love ya.

4. Shortened my evening pouch string as some of the beads came out due to wear and tear, or was it due to my rough handling? Ha ha ... glad that I am good with handicrafts as well. Jenny and Carwen saw what I did with my pouch and as there were extra beads after that, started to try their hands at stringing the beads too ! Hmm ... the girls learnt something today :-)

5. Revised with Dash for his English test the next day. Learnt a new word today : cacao tree (all this while thought it's cocoa tree! now I know, cocoa powder comes from cacao tree instead of cocoa tree ...).

My Success Journal - 27 Apr 2008

1. Today, Joe Girard blew my mind! Who's Joe? He's the #1 salesperson in the world, 12 years in a row! Loved and could relate very well to this "I Love to Sleep. Somebody is going to pay me for getting me out of my bed!". Find a job you love and you will never have to work a day. Hang around with people with positive thinking. Be like a race horse. Stay focus on your life & not on your job. The biggest problem is sneaking out and playing a little golf. When you work, you work. When you play, you play. You are a loser if you sneak out! Are you crazy? No, I am hungry!

2. Next, Steve Linder spoke about replacing old undesired behaviour with new desired behaviour with speed and repetition of "Swisshhh" to reach the unconscious/competent level which is what we call Nirvana! Hmmm ... good stuff :-)

3. T. Harv Eker, author of 'Secrets of the Millionaire Mind' spoke about : How you do anything is how you do everything ! How true. This blog was born as a result of The Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar I attended in November 2007 and guess what? Today, I've committed myself to attend the next Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar this coming 23rd - 25th May !

4. I have also committed myself to attend the National Achievers Congress 2009. This time, Robert Kiyosaki will be there together with Kim Kiyosaki ! I am so excited about this one :-)

5. I have gained so much, my energy level is at level 10 now, fully charged up to face the challenging world out there! YES ! You can do it, girl, just DO IT!

6. Today, I also got a book, Blue Ocean Strategy, borrowed to me by a friend, this will last me for the next few weeks. Great book I heard, hmmm ... let's see.

7. Had dinner at Bukit Tinggi at long last, after the seminar, was starving, tried the "Fei Sui Pat Lau Pit Yan Tei" meaning "Fertilised water do not flow into other people's land/farm", steamed pork ribs, stir-fried four angled beans and beancurd egg. It was yummy! The neat pineapple+carrot juice was very tasty too. This place never fails me, ha ha ...

8. On my way home, a friend called up, didn't sound too good. So, I offered to have a drink with her, picked her up, went to Secret Recipe at Sri Petaling, had a long chat, listened to her most of the time and tried to cheer her up. This friend hugged and thanked me for my time and all that I have done for her and I went : What have I done to deserve this? Well, I guess sometimes someone just needs a listening ear :-)

My Success Journal - 26 Apr 2008

1. Today is the first day at the National Achievers Congress. A gruelling day. Two quotes stand out and caught my attention : The Worst Prison would be a closed heart; Patience is counting down without blasting out. Next, Steven Molnar spoke on "Real Estate Mastery" : The key to fast-tracked property investing is getting the right people around you. Build wealth, not just lifestyle. Then, Roger Hamilton, retiree and committed himself to to a vision of World Wide Wealth : studying and teaching the concept of making money to give away (Wow!), spoke on "Your life, your legacy" : Wealth is not how much money you have. Wealth is what you are left with if you lose all your money. Liked the video on Paul Potts, the unassuming mobile phone salesman who overcame his fear and won Britain's Most Talented Contest - singing opera! After that, Steve Linder spoke on the 7 steps to achieving performance : I don't want to be comfortable. I want to be challenged ! Lastly, Blair Singer, the author of SalesDogs - Everybody sells, Selling requires Energy, 1st secret weapon being your brain, 2nd secret weapon being Code of Honour. Overall, many thought-provoking ideas, concepts, strategies - hmmm ... sets me pondering and slowly digesting them :-)

2. Dash called and asked, "Mummy, what are you doing?". My reply : "Oh, mummy is taking a break". "What break?" "Toilet break loh" and he went "Huh?"... My little boy loves to ask questions. "Okay, mummy got to go back into the seminar hall. Be good and do your revision okay? Monday is your exam. Help di di to revise also, will you?" "Ok" was the reply. "Mummy love you so much. See you tomorrow night. Bye!"

My Success Journal - 25 Apr 2008

1. This morning, Devi passed me a list of things to buy. One thing on that list, beras ! Zero beras already. So, had to skip lunch (again) and I went groceries shopping at Tesco, which is within walking distance from the client's office ... must have weighed more than 10 kg! ... Somehow, managed to drag my legs across the road and had to give up when I reached the other side of the road, another 100 meters to my car. Just left the groceries on the floor, walked to my car, drive to where I have left the groceries and throw everything into the car... phew! Check check ... okay, didn't over-stretch my muscles while hauling those stuff. Ha ha :-). At least I don't have to purposely go shopping later. Got time, better catch up on sleep ...

2. Smooth going at work. No problem. Did some analysis, passed some more queries to the client who went : hmmm... never thought of that. Thanks for pointing that out and thanks for your input, will review and get back to you asap. Yes! Another satisfied client :-)

3. Took a nap, a heavenly nap before dinner ... nice :-)

4. Ransacked the whole wardrobe, tried on a few and found the perfect dress to wear for my date :-)

My Success Journal - 24 Apr 2008

1. This morning, I woke up with an urgent sms received from Bea, my 3rd sister, reminding me that my road tax is expiring today! Found my vehicle registration card, went to client's place in Puchong and had my road tax renewed at the post office in Tesco. Phew! Just in time! Sent out an sms to Bea to thank her for the timely reminder. Next year, won't be so lucky I guess? Very quickly, I keyed-in the next renewal date into my handphone to be sure that I won't need to depend on Bea to remind me again! Ha ha ...

2. Today, I sent out an email and received a heart-warming lovely email in return from my penfriend. He made my day again :-)

3. Went for a swim with Bob and Carwen again this evening. This time, I discovered a way where I am able to swim more laps without the kids' getting in my way. I got them to swim the laps with me as in a race! Instead of the longer laps horizontally, I got them to race with me in vertically shorter laps ! Smart ol' me ! YES. Another well thought and workable tactic ! Just killed two birds with a stone ... ha ha ...

4. Finished reading my Reader's Digest. Love the article on 'The Way to Happiness". Some extracts : the key to enduring joy is to look beyond fleeting pleasures, to the other pillars of authentic happiness - engagement with family, work or a passionate pursuit, and finding meaning from some higher purpose... Keeping a daily gratitude journal seems hokey to some people, but writing a letter of gratitude may be very meaningful... Dare to Laugh Out Loud - laughing out loud is exactly the kind of adventurous, bold action that makes you feel happier... be less virtual, more 3-D... 2,4,6,8 who do you appreciate? (i.e. counting your blessings may be the single most helpful thing you can do for your happiness quotient) ... Rack them up ... Think memorable, not material ... Go to the funny side ... Escape to your stress-free zone ... See the glass as half full ... Find your inner artist ... Do something good ... Seize the moment ... SMILE !

My Success Journal - 23 Apr 2008

1. I was assigned to another new job, this time in Puchong. Almost forgot how to get there. After a bit of detour, finally found the place ... phew! Had a productive day. Seldom do I get clients who prepared almost every schedule and all queries answered without a hitch. Would love to have more of this type of client, efficient, good paymaster and appreciative. Looks like this will be a 3-day job, max :-)

2. Had a good swim at the clubhouse. If not for Bob and Carwen who followed me for the swim, I would have done more laps. Nevertheless, their laughter and cheekiness more than made up for it. Managed to catch up with Pauline too. Today's weather was just nice, if not for the little thunder and our rumbling stomach, we would have swam a bit more. Feeling much alert and relax after the swim. Good healthy fun ! Keep it up and fit, girl .... another 10 days of continuous swim, it will be a hard habit to break. Yes !

My Success Journal - 22 Apr 2008

1. Today, I woke up at 5 a.m., worked on Health Equity Initiatives and managed to print out all vouchers in time for today's morning meeting... phew! Nearly late for school, had to rush off without a tinge of makeup. Didn't even have the time to manage my hair, ended up with just tying them into a simple bun! Well, still look presentable :-) Hum... sped along the highway at 140km/hr!

2. Finally, I got the new accounting software figured out!

3. Connie called to say she is getting her new Honda soon! Asked me if I want to go and test drive on Sunday. Had to remind her of the National Achievers' Congress we are attending. She was so excited about her new Honda that she has totally forgotten all about the NAC ! Congratulated and reminded her to update this into her own success journal. YES! another success story for a close friend. I am happy for her.

4. Called Ping to catch up while stuck in the jam this evening. Told her about our plan for a slumber party during the kids' school holiday and she was equally excited !

5. Read Readers' Digest, (wow! come to think of it, already more than 10 years of subscription with them, such a loyal reader I am :-) before dozing off, with both my boys by my side ... I was using 3 pillows to prop myself in an upright position ... Dash already have 1 pillow but he was too lazy to go downstairs and get his own bolster, so he pulled one of my pillow ... later decided to pull my bolster as well ! Reluctantly I gave in. Sob sob ... So, there goes my reading pleasure. Kind of uncomfortable reading with just 2 pillows behind me, at the same time, didn't want to spoil my perfect eyesight ! I should have just read on my comfortable reading chair but then again, the thought of dozing off in that chair and waking up with a stiff neck, no thank you. Well, the blissful smiles on my boys' face when they are asleep more than made up for loss of my reading pleasure :-)

My Success Journal - 21 Apr 2008

1. Today, I learnt how to use a new accounting software ... struggled a bit ... managed to grasp most of the 'concepts' :-)

2. Dash was excited about his table tennis competition tomorrow and kept pestering Jenny to practise with him. Alas, he found another healthy hobby ! Good going, boy ...

3. Carwen came into my room and practised her words skill on the computer next to mine, starting with : Odelia is my aunt. She is a housewife (and I went, huh?). Well, maybe she thinks I am, since she sees me almost all the time at home, except when she is in school! LoL. Asked me how to spell this and how to spell that, which of course, I obliged most willingly :-)

4. The koi pond water was crystal clear. Spent almost an hour by the pond, with Carwen and Joey by my side. Joey as usual dipped her feet into the pool and today she was in a very happy mood, filling up a black plastic bag with the pond water and sprinkles me wet! Well, as much as I wanted to splash her with water, I restrained myself since she is still recovering from her bout of flu and cough. Maybe next time, I'll throw her into the pond ...

5. Chatted online with my new found friend for the very first time.

My Success Journal - 20 Apr 2008

1. Sent the kids to Buddhist Class, went off for our family meeting, then rush back to fetch the kids at the temple. Had some time, prayed to Buddha for blessings and said my gratitude for all the good things that came our way. Felt good that things are working out just the way I wanted them to be. Had vegetarian food at the temple together with the boys and slowly learning the chants taught there.

2. Met up with another client and collected my fee too. YES! More pocket money today ... Dash asked : Mummy, why uncle have to give you money one? You work for uncle ah? Dash learnt something today :-)

3. Visited the boys' grandma at the hospital. She looked much better and is preparing to check out the next day already. Good for her. Glad that she is doing so well after her knee operation, after many days of complaints. Alas, she will be able to walk again without the agonising pain! Reminds myself to move, move, move ... my legs whenever I can. Don't be a lazy bum. It pays to prevent rather than cure.

4. Played a few rounds of badminton with Egan and Dash, while waiting for Bob to finish his swimming class. Bob learnt his backcrawl today. Nice going boy ! Keep it up !

My Success Journal - 19 Apr 2008

1. It's a beautiful Saturday morning, had a good swim with Pauline and my boys at the clubhouse. Aaaaa... love the cooling effect of the water, relaxes my body and enjoyed floating, facing up, looking at the beautiful blue sky, the everchanging clouds and the ocassional birds enjoying their morning flight! Perfect way to start the day I would say. Got to do a few laps, breast stroke, front crawl and some aqua-exercise, flexed some tense muscles ... healthy fun. Raced with the boys ... their laughter and giggles still lingering in my ears ! Wow ! Must do this more.

2. Went to Mid-valley with Pauline after the swim, watched another movie, The Tattooist. Not too bad ... a suspense/thriller kind of movie, not the kind of movie I would normally watch but hey, for a change, why not? Quite entertaining actually.

3. Read a few pages of Lilian Too's 2008 Rooster at The House of Feng Shui when Pauline insisted to buy one for his step-son who is a Rooster. Rather interesting to note that the Rooster Lady's character sound very much like me ! Anyway, just as a general guide to note, not to dictate the way I live, so, nice to know what kind of character I am inclined towards.

4. Accepted Dennis' invitation for dinner at Serdang, fresh ikan bakar kosong was the dish to go ... that restaurant even had 'Ho Chiak's logo, meaning they were on TV. Lived up to our expectation. Even the boys enjoyed their meal though Dash was a bit grouchy at first ... Another outlet for good food ! Had a glass of beer too ... felt a little flushed after that, had to wash it down with chinese tea when I got home !

5. Connie and the gang came over for BBQ ... to celebrate her success for the week, she had a major presentation with some corporate clients! Being a good chef herself, we had good tomyam prawns and stingray as the new dish. The lamb and chicken wings tasted yummy. Of course, not to forget my famous home-made chillie paste. The crystal corns were really sweet, the vegetable and fruits salad went well with a touch of thousand island too. Had a glass of red wine too. Hmm.. perfect supper. Ha ha ! Oops! Will have to get rid of the extra calories :-(

My Success Journal - 18 Apr 2008

1. Friday nite, out with colleagues, had dinner at Gasoline for the very first time - more for the hiphop teens, Japanese style, sat on cushion mats, luckily was in my Jeans! Had good laughs and lots of giggles in between with the junior gang as usual. Kind of reminded me of my teenage days ... after that, enjoyed The Forbidden Kingdom starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li. An enjoyable evening.

2. Got some paperwork done at home, in preparation of our family meeting ...

Thursday, April 17, 2008

My Success Journal - 17 Apr 2008

1. Finally, I got all 3 personal tax cases done in a day. Met up with 1 client, explained his tax position and got the go ahead. Can hear my money jingles playing in my head, yeah !

2. Got some information re doggies for sale near Bidor at wholesale price with lots of choices as the brother of this client is the distributor of dogs for pet shops in Malaysia. Shown me some real cute puppy photos. Reminds me of the 3 dogs we once had back in parents' house : Dobby, Dolcy and Doggie !

3. Shown Sentul house to a prospective buyer this evening.

My Success Journal - 16 Apr 2008

I must have got down from the wrong side of the bed this morning !

Had an early morning meeting with my personal client, meaning lots of homework to do now + additional deadline to meet, not that I am complaning though :-) Money... money money money, I love money ... ha ha ha ... can hear my money jingle playing in my head !

Before official office hours start, I received a call from my boy, using his headmistress' handphone, crying away telling me that his teacher caned him for not bringing his book to school and pleaded with me : Please mummy, can you bring me that Mandarin textbook? Teacher is very angry with me ... sob sob sob ...

So, I had to call my boss to let him know I'll be late ... went back home, cannot find his book. Called the headmistress, she's at a meeting. Called the class teacher, no answer. Arrggghhhh .... okay, told myself : Girl, calm down, calm down, count from 1 to 10, then 10 to 1 ... ha ha ... now as I am writing this down, I am laughing at myself again ! Alas, found it in the girls' room instead. Too late... better let my boy get some positive stress for his own good. Anyway, later the teacher called and explained why he punished my boy .... that despite one whole week of warning, my boy kept forgetting to bring his book to school. Shared with the teacher that my boy comes from a family that hugs a lot. Punishment is rare. I acknowledged the teacher's point and thank him for caring enough to bring this to my attention.... phew !

Still remember back in my primary school days, I used to forget to bring my English textbook to school. Had to kneel down in front of the headmistress' office during recess ! At least I had company, 2 other girls were with me, facing the same 'sentence'. That went on for nearly one whole week before I finally learnt my lesson ! The more I am frightened, the more I tend to forget ! Ha ha ... those were the days.

Looks like I have to do something. Looking at my own office desk, hmmm... no wonder my boy's desk is also messy. Time for some 'spring cleaning' this weekend, oh boy ! Ok lah, gotta lead by example I guess :-) Things do happen for a reason, don't they ?

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

My Success Journal - 15 Apr 2008

1. This morning, with the girls not around, I tuned in to Lite n Easy, the songs on air reminded me of my Secondary school days. Sang "Words" Don't Come Easy To Me - on the way to school and because it was a catchy and easy song, Dash ended up singing the song together with me as well :-). I said, "It's a nice song isn't it? Mommy used to sing this song for a teacher during my secondary school who was retiring, as a farewell gift".

2. Since last week, almost everyday I heard family and friends asking me why I have slimmed down so much, from Christy the spa girl (who commented I must have at least put off 2.5 kg since the last time she massaged me, even cellulite also gone!), Pauline my neighbourhood friend (Stop losing any more weight, you look just nice. Any skinnier, you will look haggard!), Jane my business associate (What happened to you? You looked good, so much thinner than I saw you a few weeks back!), my big sis (hey, have you been going to the slimming centre, now, can hardly see your tummy!), the PIBG committee member (I think you are thinner than me now. How much is your weight?). This morning, when I put on the skirt that I know will definitely tell if I have really slimmed down, it's confirmed. Feeling great. Hopefully, it's due to the healthier diet I have been practicing. Got to start exercising more to tone up now :-)

3. Had my evening swim at Vista Komanwel club house together with Dash and Bob. Ahhhhh ... floating on my back, looking up, the cool blue sky was heavenly, the water temperature just nice after the rain. Swam a few laps and could feel the energy returning, slowly caressing my tired muscles. The boys didn't want to get out of the swimming pool, poor mummy had to bribe them with ice-cream treats!

4. Went to pasar malam with Jess, bought chocolate cakes for Dash and Bob (their favourite) and some chicken floss buns for tomorrow's tea break for the kids after school. Valerie called to say hello ... it must have been ages since we last spoke on the phone. Nice to catch up with her. Apparently she found someone, finally. Still single and not planning to get married or have kids but just enjoying each other's company. Good for her. Glad she thought of me and care enough to keep in touch ... suddenly felt like singing "that's what friend are for" :-)

My Success Journal - 14 Apr 2008

1. Today is a beautiful Monday morning, haven't felt so good on Mondays in ages. It's normally the Monday blues but today, somehow it's different. Still feeling high from the aftermath of yesterday's dance in the rain! Received an e-mail from Connie this morning and wow! she gave me an idea, that's to get to know my neighbours through the Residents' Association.

2. Sent an sms to my ex early this morning : Hi, meant to let you know that it is ok for you to have the boys stay overnight with you once in a while. You have been a good dad. I am happy that the boys are happy when you spend time with them. Just try not to pamper them too much :-)

3. Today, I raised total billings for the work I have done this month, amounting to RM88,500 excluding disbursements ! Wow! My boss must be pretty happy to see this one :-)

4. At the PIBG meeting today, realised that the parents and teachers are really very compassionate people with big hearts. All the children's needs were discussed in length and decisions made for the betterment of students. One really poor student's need was highlighted and given the green light to extend all possible aid including free meals and tuition fee waiver at school.

5. Dash's class teacher called in the morning to inform me that he has not been passing up his homework and had to be caned. Was a bit worried. When we got home, Dash kept searching for his homework books but could not find them and started to cry. At last, kakak found the books after I suggested that we look into the girls' room ! Dash explained that he did actually finish his homework but when he looked into his bag to pass up that morning, he found them missing. Had a heart-to-heart talk with him and he now knows that it is his duty to make sure he puts back all his books into his bag immediately after finishing his homework because so long as no homework is passed up even though he has done them means as good as not done them. He understood and promised to be responsible for his own things from now on. Hope he has learnt from this experience.

My Success Journal - 13 Apr 2008

1. This morning, I was at the kids' buddhist class and 1 particular poem in mandarin caught my attention "But, I can". Took a pen and copied it down. Later, got Jenny to read me those words that I don't know... hmmm ... meaningful.

2. At the kids' swimming class, Bob swam very well, now he is able to swim underwater from 1 end to the other in 1 whole lap. He is going to be a good swimmer and a good boy (Bob said so!).

3. Played catching and basketball with the girls in the playground, felt like a fun-loving ten year old again !

4. It rained just now and I suddenly had the urge to dance. So, I invited all the kids to dance with me in the rain with very loud music in the background. Had a lot of fun ! This will be something the kids will remember for life ! A crazy mommy, a crazy aunt, allowed them to dance in the heavy rain for the very first time !

5. Bob, Dash and Carwen all wanted to sleep with me for the night. Had to say, ok, let's take turns. Dash brought in the CD player into my room and turned on 'Music For Therapy', one of my favourite before wishing me good nite and dozed off almost immediately. He is slowly beginning to catch on mommy's taste for relaxation ....

My Success Journal - 12 Apr 2008

1. After sending off an email in the wee hour of about 1a.m., I finally climbed to bed and managed to sleep (after many hours of non-sleep, tired out from my jb trip) soundly and woke up to a beautiful morning. Bob came into my room, still in his pyjamas and wished me "Mommy, wakey wakey, it's morning already!". His cheerful voice woke me up with a big smile on my face. He further said : Mommy, let's have breakfast. I said : Mommy is so thirsty, can you... With a smile, he jumped off the bed and brought back a slice of bread + drinking water in his favourite spiderman mug. Oh ... he is so sweet. So, I had breakfast in bed this morning, luxurious to me ... mmmm ... gave him a hug and said "Mommy love you so very much".

2. After my morning shower, I went downstairs and the boys were getting ready to ride on their bicycle. Dash came back after 1 round and brought me a stalk of wild flowers that he picked from the road side ... with tiny little purple buds ... oh so sweet ... and I said "thank you thank you so much. It's very nice. Mommy love it. You go ahead and enjoy your ride. Be very careful ya?". With that, he left with a big grin on his plump face, happy that mommy appreciates his little gift ... ohhh ... what a good start to this beautiful day.

3. Decided to stay indoors and relax. Fed the koi and enjoyed my plate of pear and green apples, watching the koi swimming gracefully. Dipped my feet into the pond and feel the cool water ripples running against my feet, slowly feeling much relaxed. Ohhhh so nice, suddenly feel so lazy, a little guilty in fact ! Wished that special someone was with me ! Dear me, dear me ...

My Success Journal - 11 Apr 2008

1. It's friday and it's movies day with my colleagues!

2. Said goodbye to my new penfriend for it seems there will be no happy end. Kind of sad, a blessing in disguise.

3. The 3 files on Bertling group has finally been sent to client for approval. Sense of triumph over work.

My Success Journal - 10 Apr 2008

1. Today was rush, rush, rush..... but as usual, I managed to complete the impossible task and met the deadline requested by Bertling within that short 2 hours despite my boss' saying otherwise! Mission accomplished ... yeh yeh yeh !

2. Travelled to JB together with the boss and got into the Jabatan Audit Negara office just in time for a conference with the new Auditor General ... phew! Dozed off during the travel just like what I claimed to be, a sleeping beauty, ha ha. Told the boss, throw me anywhere and I can just sleep away like a log ...

3. Received another lovely poem from my new found penfriend, very sweet of him.

4. Called back home and Bob said, Mommy, I miss you! Carwen said she has a surprise self-made card for me ... so sweet, can't wait to get back home ... Missed the kids dearly.

My Success Journal - 09 Apr 2008

1. Woke up early today, at 5 a.m.! Checked through my mailbox, cleared some paper work and sent Sharuna the templates after re-designing the forms requested by her. Hmm... maybe I'll do that. Morning freshness both in mind and spirit.

2. I finally got all 11 years of accounts done for Tasjaya after such a long delay on the client's part. Derived some satisfaction from that !

3. Jess is back! Good to see her back after 3 weeks of absence. Offered her to have dinner every day with us so that she doesn't have to eat out which is no good since she has just recovered from her operation. She politely declined.

My Success Journal - 08 Apr 2008

1. Today, my day at work nearly got ruined by my new found friend with his poems and smses. Such 'erotic' exchange of smses, makes me feel like an attractive sexy woman again. Nearly scare me off but the last one was assuring.

2. Bob gave me a surprise today, in the form of an art piece he drew using the new box of crayon I got for him yesterday. It's one with a shining bright sun, beautiful sky-blue clouds, green trees and it's also written with the word "MOMMY, I LOVE YOU". So sweet. I gave him a big big hug.

3. The 3 girls got home after their grandpa's funeral and seem to be doing fine. No sign of distress. Good to have them back home after 5 days of absence.

1. I have finally started on the Tasjaya accounts after a few months' pending info from Datuk. Managed to thrash out most of the stuff starting from 1997! What a nightmare it will be! But no sweat, who else if not me? Ha ha ... makes me feel good.

2. Today, I went to the hair saloon and got a nice touch up whilst the boys had their long-overdue haircut. Both looked neat, tidy and of course, handsome!

3. Pauline called to ask if I want to go to Pasar Malam tomorrow. Good to know that she thought of me.

4. Bob chose to sleep with me for the night. Just looking at his blissful face makes me feel warm all over.

My Success Journal - 06 Apr 2008

1. Sunday morning, I took the kids out to the wet market at OUG and managed to get some fresh vegetables, chicken and flowers. The boys had some arguments, teased each other and got Bob finally crying out loud when Dash somehow hurt his feelings with the word "Stupid Zhong Yuan!". I was able to contain my frustration as I tried to pacify Bob and at the same time try to prevent Dash from doing further teasing! Finally, I had to scoop Bob up and somehow with mommy's hugs and kind words, he stopped making a scene. What a relief! After some time, Bob begin to tease Dash and got Dash so angry that Dash started to shed tears and was in the verge of hitting Bob! Haiya ... one episode after another. What a day! Used the same tactic and in between my hugs and kind words, Dash finally stopped crying and by the time we got back into the car, they were both playing happily together. What a double relief! I suppose brothers are brothers. Sibling rivalry is a norm after all. Kind of made me recall some of those similar moments I had when I was growing up. Once I fought so hard with PK that I hit him straight on the nose and had him bleeding! I felt so bad after that I never hit him on the nose anymore!

2. Watched Bob at swimming class for a while. He seem to enjoy his swimming lessons nowadays and is much more disciplined already. It's nice to see him slowly improving his water survival skills so much so that Azmi, his swimming instructor praises him.

3. As I sat by the pool, I suddenly felt the urge to write. Excitedly, I asked for a piece of paper and begin to write. The words just came flowing in and I managed to come up with 2 lovely poems within a minutes, inspired by my new penfriend who dedicated a special poem to me earlier. Sent them off later in the evening to this new found friend of mine, hoping that the poems will make him feel better as he was feeling sickly, imagining the smiles on his face as he read the poems!

1. It is a Saturday, full of activities. After a light breakfast and with the boys satisfied that they have fest on a few rounds of PS2 at mom's place, we headed home in a cheerful mood. That afternoon, Lisa came over with her AMC manager for a cooking demonstration and I invited Pauline over to join us. It was a good demonstration, about healthy cooking and eat healthy. The food was tasty, without oil and pollution free.

2. Had an enjoyable evening as well, first with a spa at Asia Spa together with Pauline. Shared some light moments in the Jacuzzi and felt much better and in a lighter mood that we decided to go for a movie too. We watched 'The 3 Kingdoms', a rather thought-provoking film. She thanked me for the wonderful evening and mentioned that it has been a long while since the last time she enjoyed such a relaxing evening. It is always a pleasure to be able to help destress a friend who has been going through some tough time.

3. The kids also enjoyed their evening together with their daddy and I was glad to see them home safely and in their happy mood as well.

My Success Journal - 04 Apr 2008

1. I cleared some review points raised by the Principal and managed to send the 3 drafts for typing and replied an e-mail forwarded by the client concerned, just in time to fetch my boys... phew!

2. I was excited about my first date tonight and was a bit disappointed when my date called up to cancel it due to some unforeseen circumstance but cheered up after reading his heart-warming sms. Things do happen for a reason.

3. I had a good evening with the boys especially Bob who are in his chatty mood. Told me lots of stuff about his friends in school, glad that he is finally making some friends at school after 3 long months!

4. The girls' grandpa passed away at midnight and their mom called up to inform that the girls won't be going to school. I sent her my condolence and she said thank you for my concern. When the girls told me previously that their don't feel like going to their grandparents' house over the weekends, I advised them to go even though they don't feel like it 'coz their grandparents are already getting old and that they may not be around for long. It felt good that they took my advice, at least, their grandpa got to see them during his last few months. God bless.

5. I decided to stay overnight at parents' place together with the boys and had some light moments with mom. Brought her to Giant for some shopping and I can feel that she is in her good mood and I would like to believe that she feels good also to see me in my cheerful mood as well. Even though we did not chat a lot, it's kind of warm to know that we care and are there for each other. My mom, with her primary love language of 'acts of service' spells love and affection which I have learnt to appreciate. It simply felt good.

My Success Journal - 03 Apr 2008

1. Today, I was rather productive in the office and was able to finish most of the outstanding files piled up on my desk after 2 days' of offwork, attending a seminar.

2. I exchanged 2 emails with James within the same day and well, things seem to be 'heating' up? He has even asked for a date to which I accepted with pleasure. Feeling kind of excited and nervous at the same time. It has been ages since I last dated! Liked the feeling though :-) Hope the date will turn out to be good!

3. While I was getting ready to sleep, Bob crept into my bed and asked for permission to sleep with me for the night to which I gladfully said "Sure can. Come and let mommy tuck you in. Good night and sweet dreams. Love you!" to which he gave me a big bear hug and replied "I love you too. Good night". He dozed off almost immediately after that!

My Success Journal - 02 Apr 2008

1. Today is the 2nd and last day of the Public Practice Programme. Found the session on stress management a relaxing one with Dr William Lau who shared with us his stress management strategies.... 2 4 6 he goes for a morning walk at 6.30am then a hot shower after that. 1 3 5 he goes for 45 minutes of swimming. He plays with his dog and took up 1 musical instrument to learn and play. He also taught us some basic easy-to-do stress-relief movements as well as one relaxing breathing technique. On first thought, sounds more like a post-retirement regime to me but then again, I told myself it is only through consistent 'preventive maintenance' that I'll be able to stay fit. With 5 kids under my care, I cannot afford to collapse! After all, I do enjoy these activities.

2. I felt good that I took the initiative to dress up for the occassion - a video shooting session during our seminar. Looking back, most of the participants, so call accountants, seem to live up to the phrase "Square and boring"! Well, thanks to Clare, I do not fall into that category any more... Now, I am a positively attractive lady accountant, on top of being a smart one too! Even the facilitators chose to sit next to me during lunch breaks, ha ha. I would like to think that it's because I was responsive and was able to articulate opinions, suggestions and sharing of ideas/experiences.

3. I managed to speak to James, my new found friend from match.com and well, the teleconversation was friendly. He was open-minded and talks about his expectations and a little background on his relationship with his ex-girlfriend of 6 years. After putting down the phone, I took a look at his detailed profile for the first time and was rather impressed. Told myself, with his kind of profile, my guess is, he will receive lots of winks and emails in his mailbox! Somehow, I felt that I have given him some wrong impressions ... I couldn't believe myself saying the words 'stupid' and 'what a jerk'. How can I, when I have on many occassions reminded the kids not to utter those words (which they must have picked up from friends/movies). Maybe those words have been sub-consciously implanted into my left brain. Guess 'The Secret' has proved its point once again. Must have been the late hours. Ha ha ... blame it on the rain ... Only god knows what is in store. Okay, at least I learnt something today.

My Success Journal - 01 Apr 2008

1. Today I went for the 1st day of Public Practice Programme organised by MIA. Being the only female in public practice, I had to really participate. Met quite a few fellow candidates and managed to get their contact details for future networking. At the end of the session, got a book titled "Change or Die" from Steven Lim as a gift for answering a technical question correctly. Yeh!! Johnny Yong also gave a good insight as to preparing for the Audit Interview. Somehow, through sample Questions posed by Johnny most of which I am able to answer, felt that I am ready for the interview but will have to really read up on the Bursa and SC portion. Time to subscribe to The Edge and Investor Money!

2. Visited my ex's mom at the hospital. She seems to be in a better mood and is feeling more comfortable although she still has some difficulty moving about. Kept advising me to really take good care of myself so that hopefully I will not end up like her having to go through the knee surgery. That is so typical of her. Love her for her selfless acts and thoughts.

3. Today, I also got to know a new friend from match.com by the name of James who took the effort to write me an e-mail. Found him rather down to earth, frank and mature. He writes quite well too. We seem to share common interests.
