Wedding Joy

19th October, 2008 - Tonight I attended the wedding dinner reception for newly weds, Yung Hung and Ming Jie. The thing about this couple is this ... their flower girl, Alistar is their 5 year old daughter !!! Wow ... it's only after five years of registering their marriage that they decided to have the chinese customary wedding ceremony! It came as a surprise to me actually, as I was not aware that Yung Hung had a daughter but on this night, the 'news' put me into a state of WOW !!!!

I was introduced for the first time to Ming Jie tonight and her response was : Ah !!! I have heard so much about you from Yung Hung ! Thank you for guiding Yung Hung when he first came out to work. Thank you for coming to our wedding! ... I felt really nice, the way I was introduced, felt very much appreciated and of course, it's always a blessing to be able to make a difference in someone's life ... ha ha ... here I go again ^_^

I could almost imagine how Ming Jie managed to go through the challenges of being pregnant in her 1st year in UK, delivery baby Alistar and then leave her newborn under her parents' care and continue her studies in the UK for the next 2 years !!! The emotions she had to go through ... as a woman, it must have been heartbreaking, full of guilt? One thing I felt really touched is the determination this couple had in being together throughout those trying times. Their close friends shared the stories of how they met and how they ended up marrying each other after 10 years. Now, both professionals in their own right, I am happy to see the union of such a loving couple ... almost fairy tale like.
