Anti-cervical Cancer Vaccine

Much has been said, learned and talked about by women ... like me ... yes, like Odelia :-) Read about it after a close friend recommended it and my gynae has been telling me and handing me brochures about this new vaccine in the market ... the anti-cervical cancer vaccine ...

So ... took my first jab in February 2008, second jab in March 2008 and finally, today I took the final booster jab. I was at mom's place for lunch and decided to cycle to the nearby clinic ... carried the package complete with needle and ice-pack while trying to balance myself on mom's bicycle was ... well, let's just say ... kinda nerve wrecking in the beginning but as I cycle along, I begin to enjoy the slow breeze, blowing at my face ... nice ^_^

Now, why did I let myself go through these needle poking rituals on my arm three times ... beats me, but hey, prevention is always always better than cure. Don't quite know if it works, honestly, but then, I know of a friend who is suffering from cervical cancer, the heart-breaking processes she had to go through and the kind of emotional stress is just too much to bear, not to mention the 'going bald' episode while she's on radiotherapy ... the amount of time and money spent ... just simply makes it worthwhile to let the nurse/doctor poke on my arm, no problem ... if at all, for a little peace of mind ... ha ha ... though my arm feels a bit of a numb for a few days ^_^

While getting ready to inject me, the Malay lady doctor (she is very nice, by the way) asked about the little lump on my left arm ... well, not that this is the first time that a doctor asked me ... hey, it's just a little muscle, been swimming you see? Ah ... exercise helps to keep a healthy fit body, mind and soul also ... no short cut one ah !!!!
