1. Today is the 2nd and last day of the Public Practice Programme. Found the session on stress management a relaxing one with Dr William Lau who shared with us his stress management strategies.... 2 4 6 he goes for a morning walk at 6.30am then a hot shower after that. 1 3 5 he goes for 45 minutes of swimming. He plays with his dog and took up 1 musical instrument to learn and play. He also taught us some basic easy-to-do stress-relief movements as well as one relaxing breathing technique. On first thought, sounds more like a post-retirement regime to me but then again, I told myself it is only through consistent 'preventive maintenance' that I'll be able to stay fit. With 5 kids under my care, I cannot afford to collapse! After all, I do enjoy these activities.
2. I felt good that I took the initiative to dress up for the occassion - a video shooting session during our seminar. Looking back, most of the participants, so call accountants, seem to live up to the phrase "Square and boring"! Well, thanks to Clare, I do not fall into that category any more... Now, I am a positively attractive lady accountant, on top of being a smart one too! Even the facilitators chose to sit next to me during lunch breaks, ha ha. I would like to think that it's because I was responsive and was able to articulate opinions, suggestions and sharing of ideas/experiences.
3. I managed to speak to James, my new found friend from match.com and well, the teleconversation was friendly. He was open-minded and talks about his expectations and a little background on his relationship with his ex-girlfriend of 6 years. After putting down the phone, I took a look at his detailed profile for the first time and was rather impressed. Told myself, with his kind of profile, my guess is, he will receive lots of winks and emails in his mailbox! Somehow, I felt that I have given him some wrong impressions ... I couldn't believe myself saying the words 'stupid' and 'what a jerk'. How can I, when I have on many occassions reminded the kids not to utter those words (which they must have picked up from friends/movies). Maybe those words have been sub-consciously implanted into my left brain. Guess 'The Secret' has proved its point once again. Must have been the late hours. Ha ha ... blame it on the rain ... Only god knows what is in store. Okay, at least I learnt something today.
