My Success Journal - 23 Mar 2008

1. This morning, we woke up early and went marketing at the OUG wet market. Bought vegetables, chicken and some other groceries. Also had breakfast together. This time, the 2 boys did not quarrel over food/toys and managed to gobble up all their food in a jiffy. Next, we bought a packet of 5kg fish food for the koi fishes at RM38. I also managed to bargain for the shop to buy our guppy fishes at 20 sen instead of the initial 15 sen per fish offered.

2. We had our very first visit to the hill near our house for a brisk walk and discovered there were many 'bunga cempaka' lying around. We picked the fresher ones and put them into our caps and took home 3 caps full of white, pink and red ones. I then arranged them into two crystal bowls filled with water. They emit such fresh smells and was quite pleasant-looking for a change. It was overall quite a nice and peaceful experience. Together with the boys, we were able to spend some time out in the sun. The natural environment provided some fresh air which was quite refreshing. I also got to exercise my leg muscles for a start. Good for my soul too.

3. In the afternoon, I sent Bob to his swimming class. Bob has started his skin dive and the instructor commented that he was quite good. Whereas for Dash, well he had a few badminton sessions with me, kakak and my sister-in-law. Dash with his big toothy grins was a heart-warming and entertaining badminton player.

4 We had great fun catching and counting the number of guppy fishes for sale. The maid catch them with the big net, Dash and Joey count them from the bigger pail before putting them into a smaller transparent plastic container. We managed to catch 190 of the male species (they are more beautiful than the female ones which are less in demand and does not fetch a good price) and happily, we got into the car where Dash hugged the plastic container with the precious little fishes and arrived at the fish shop in good time as the shop was preparing to close for the day. The shop owner was generous enough to give the boys RM2 extra ... at least that covers petrol cost! So, happily, we pocketed RM40! Not bad for our first sale, hopefully there will be many more sales to come. The shop owner was happy also as our fishes were very beautiful ones compared to those they have and they were selling them for RM1 each! Hmmm.... maybe I should start looking at selling to other shops if they can offer a higher price. Glad that we have reserved all the female guppies to ourselves for reproduction! Saw many pregnant ones already. Hope they will re-produce fast enough for us to sell ......

5. My in-laws came over for dinner and I had a good chat with my mother-in-law who is about to decide on her knee operation, pending his son's advice to go ahead. Hope she will recover well and soon! Somehow, reminds me to start exercising and take good care of myself as now I have only the kids to keep me company. Should I fall sick, who will take care of the kids? So, I made myself a promise to start exercising to keep fit and healthy.

In conclusion, today was one of the most enjoyable Sunday I have had in many months! The start of many more good weekends to come!
